Yoga
Some of the benefits of Yoga included balance,flexibility, strength,and marked improvements in body awareness, motor planning, concentration and the ability to relax!
We will cover the basics:
- Pranayama (breathing exercises)
- Asanas (poses)
- Shavasana (conscious relaxation)
This peaceful class will practice Yoga with modifications for varying abilities. The goal is to move our bodies, as they are into or toward the given asana. Every effort is a successful one! If the student requires individual assistance, please include a friend or family member who understands their need and can provide that assistance.
Please bring a Yoga mat aka. sticky mat) to each class. Dress comfortably with slip-off shoes. This class is for teens and adults ages 12-22 years old.
Julie Ford - has worked with people with disabilities of all ages for 13+ years, Certified through Yoga for the Special Child in 1998, she has been teaching group and private Yoga since. In addition, she works as a quality Life Coach focusing on academic, social and independence skills, and has taught at Hope University, a fine arts school for developmentally disabled adults in Anaheim.
