Programs & Services

UCP-OC's Respite Connection brings trained, adult caregivers together with the parents of special needs children. With their caregiver, children are able to pursue activities outside the home in addition to having a safer and more enriched experience when their parent is away. Respite workers are pre-screened and receive training to ensure that they are reliable, compassionate, and trustworthy.

"I like Rachel and Mayra because they play pretend school with me, take me to restaurants and buy me ice cream and candies, play computer games, and read me Dear Mrs. LaRue when my mom and dad are not here.  I miss Cassie and Nikki because I like them too." - Austin Simmons
